Awards and Recognition: Prix Qualité Habitation pour le meilleur projet d'ensemble résidentiel
Located in Mascouche, this project involved creating a living space made up of 56 single-family houses in a natural setting. A system of winding streets was created to maximize the use of the land and to make it look as though the residences are nestled in the woods, reminiscing an English garden. This way, visitors gradually discover the space as they move through the neighbourhood, new perspectives and residences appearing at every turn.
Mature trees were protected during the construction to ensure added value to the project, now creating the impression of a mature neighbourhood.
A traditional architectural style was favoured to give the neighbourhood a village-like feel and make the project stand out from others.
As a result of all of these efforts, the project received the 2002 Qualité Habitation prize for best master plan.
